Home Birth
November 21, 2008

I just realized that not everyone knows we are forgoing the traditional “hospital birth” and are going to welcome our baby into this world in the comfort and familiarity of our own home.  After much research and education, we’ve found that hospitals frequently increase the risks in labor and delivery and hospital births result in much higher rates of complications and problems due to their “standard medical procedures.”

There’s tons more information available on the safety and success of home births vs. hospital births and I’ll try to post more over the next few days.    In the meantime, Harold is trying to get our birth pool inflated and make sure everything is up and working before the baby decides to come.

Baby Shower

What amazing Baby Showers we’ve had!  We were so grateful for the overflowing generosity of all of our friends and family – we’re in awe!

Here are a few of the best shots from the two special days:showerus1

Yes, I’m really 7 month pregnant in this pic!

Does anyone have a goat we can borrow?
November 12, 2008

With Harold working so hard on the house and me in my current, rather useless condition, our yard has decided to take over and exert its newfound freedom.  Our grass is so tall, Hannah is afraid to walk through it unsure of what (or who) she might find hiding deep inside.

So, we’re thinking of borrowing a goat to take care of our overgrown jungle.
